Microsoft bid $44.6 bln for Yahoo!
Microsoft Corp has announced a bid to takeover Yahoo! Inc at a total equity value of around $44.6 billion at $31 per share.
The value of the offer is 62 per cent above the closing price of Yahoo! on 31 Jan 2008. The proposed takeover is seen as a challenge to internet giant Google Inc.
