Centrica said to be considering British Energy merger
British energy firm Centrica is said to be considering a plan to revive a £22.5 billion merger with British Energy, following the decision by French firm EDF to pull out of a takeover of the nuclear energy company.

Centrica to raise household gas prices 35 percent

Centrica buys Norwegian interests
Centrica Plc said on Wednesday that it agreed to acquire interests in a package of non-operated gas and oil assets in Norway for $375 million (£190 million). The agreement will mean Centrica will acquire interests in the Heimdal area of the Norwegian North Sea.

Centrica predicts H1 profit fall
Centrica Plc, the owner of British Gas, said on Monday that it expected operating profit for the first half of 2008 to be "materially lower" than in 2007. Centrica said the drop could largely be attributed to lower profitability in British Gas Residential, "which experienced exceptional conditions" earlier in the year.

Centrica profits rise 40%
Centrica Plc, the owner of British Gas has reported an increase in operating profits of 40 per cent in 2007 to £1,949 million. The group said that its pre-tax profit from continuing operations was £2,184 million in 2007, up from £130 million the year before.
