Google phone Nexus One has 'iPhone killer' tech specs

According to the information released on the Web, Nexus One will promise blistering speed, thanks to the ultra-powerful Qualcomm QSD82350 (Snapdragon) 1GHz processor under its hood (iPhone runs on the slower ARM-based Cortex A8 600MHz processor).

But that's not all. Nexus One also boasts of a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen. In comparison, iPhone 3GS has a 3.5-inch capacitive multitouch screen with 480x320 pixel resolution display. Unfortunately, Nexus One, according to rumour mills, will not support multitouch functions, but a bigger display and ability to support higher resolution images without distortion or pixilation means it is more enjoyable to watch movies and browse on Nexus One than on iPhone.

As per the tech specs leaked out, Nexus One also boasts of a 5-megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom, autofocus and LED flash. In comparison, iPhone has a 3.15-megapixel camera with autofocus but no zoom or flash.

Unlike iPhone which only has an internal storage, Nexus One has a microSD card slot (expandable up to 32GB) and will ship with 4GB card.

Nexus One also boasts of higher memory speed (512MB RAM) than iPhone (256MB RAM), better WiFi support and it comes with a microUSB port (which iPhone lacks).

What's more, Nexus One's browser will support Javascript and Flash-based webpages unlike iPhone's browser.

And, guess what? Nexus One will also sport a user changeable battery unlike iPhone, which has an in-built battery.

Hope you've got a good appetite because Nexus One also boasts of bells and whistles such as Android 2.1 mobile platform, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, A-GPS (with Google Maps), accelerometer sensor, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, onscreen Qwerty keyboard, digital compass and 3.5mm audio jack.

Wow! Other smartphones, especially iPhone, better watch out for Nexus One because it looks like one nasty, hungry beast on the prowl. Besides, we all hate blood spills.
