Burberry Q1 revenue up 26%
Fashion group Burberry Plc said on Tuesday that its total revenue increased 26 per cent to £211 million in its first quarter. The company said that in the three months to 30 June retail sales rose 19 per cent to £115 million.
Wholesale revenue at the group was reported as being up 45 per cent to £80 million, whilst licensing revenue rose five per cent to £16 million.
The company said it had seen strong sales in Europe, the Americas and Asia which offset continued weakness in its operations in Spain.
Angela Ahrendts, Chief Executive Officer of Burberry, said, "I am pleased with Burberry's start to the year in an increasingly challenging external environment. Our brand momentum is strong, driven by product innovation and a focused management team. This momentum, together with the diversity and balance we have across products, channels and regions, underpins our confidence for the future."
