US coffee chain Starbucks has announced its intentions to open 150 new outlets in Britain, France and Germany in the next three years in a deal with SSP. SSP is a UK group which runs Burger King and Pizza Hut stores.

The new outlets will open at airports and railway stations. According to the Wall Street Journal the deal is the largest ever undertaken by Starbucks outside the US, where the company's sales growth is starting to slow.

Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks, said, "This collaboration aligns with our strategy to accelerate growth in our international business," reports Reuters.

He continued, "It provides us with a strong platform to further expand the Starbucks brand across Europe."

Earlier in the month Starbucks opened its first outlet in Argentina.
