Kazakhmys not planning takeover of Eurasian
Posted 10 June 2008 @ 10:18 am GMT
Mining group Kazakhmys has said that it has no intention of making a full offer for fellow miner Eurasian Natural Resources, after increasing its stake in the company to 22 per cent.
Kazakmys did say that whilst a full takeover was not on the table, the firm did see the possibility of greater cooperation between the two companies.
Oleg Novachuk, chief executive of Kazakhmys, said, "There are plenty of options for cooperation open at the moment, but we really need time to explore them," reports Reuters.
