Stanelco in line with expectations
Stanelco Plc said on Monday that its 2008 financial year (starting 1 Jan 2008) had started well and was in line with expectations.
The company, which makes biodegradable packaging, said that current sales from Biotec were in line with the board's expectations and that the Stanelco Biplastics team had begun to achieve "some encouraging sales traction in a number of end-user areas".
In a statement Stanelco said, "The market remains fast-moving, driven as it is by both changing legislative and consumer requirements. We are concentrating on adapting and enhancing the functional and commercial attributes of bioplastic materials which will be essential to commercial success."
The company said of its outlook, "We expect continued good progress in the Company's main businesses. This gives the Board confidence in the outlook for further commercialisation and development in 2008."
