Countrywide 3i Takeover EGM and Court Meeting for Friday

Countrywide Plc issued a letter to its shareholders, giving an update on the situation with its Court Meeting and EGM regarding its possible takeover by 3i Investments.
The EGM was adjourned at the request of 3i who’s Independent Directors wished to hold further consultations with the significant Shareholders of Countrywide, and so ensure that any EGM that was held would reflect the interests of the Shareholders.
Current proposals place the value of Countrywide shares at 568.7 pence. The Court Meeting and EGM will now take place on Friday 26th January 2007.
