Norwegian Annual Inflation Rate Rises
Posted 10 November 2006 @ 05:35 am GMT
Norway's annual inflation rate increased to 2.7 percent in October, driven by rising energy costs.
Inflation in the same month last year stood at 1.2 percent and at 2.6 percent in September, Statistics Norway said Friday.
Electricity costs rose 47 percent rise in the cost of electricity during the period. In addition, the cost of accommodation services rose 11 percent, while transportation costs rose 5 percent.
The price increases were partly offset by a decline of 5.5 percent in the price of clothing and a 8.5 percent decline in the cost of audiovisual equipment over the year, the agency said.
